“召回制度” 關(guān)注食品安全

本周二，中國(guó)國(guó)家食品藥品監(jiān)管局原局長(zhǎng)鄭筱萸因受賄、玩忽職守被判處死刑。在國(guó)民大快人心之際，食品、藥物安全問(wèn)題再敲警鐘。為此，政府有望在今年年底建立不安全食品召回制度。

an unusually harsh punishment for taking bribes to approve substandard
medicines, including an antibiotic blamed for at least 10 deaths.
Seeking to address broadening concerns over food, the government also
announced plans for its first recall system for
unsafe products.
“不安全食品召回制度”相應(yīng)的英文表達(dá)為“recall system for
unsafe products”，或者，也可寫作“Product Recall”。
產(chǎn)品質(zhì)量不合格，廠家若要收回進(jìn)行再處理，可用單詞“recall”，其相應(yīng)的英文釋義是：“A request by the manufacturer of
a product that has been identified as defective to return it”（制造商收回問(wèn)題產(chǎn)品）?？蠢洌篢he
car was recalled for possible safety defects.（汽車因可能存在的安全缺陷被召。）
另外，recall除了常用義“回憶、回想”，也可用來(lái)形容“取消（命令）”、“召回（大使）”，如：recall a
decision（撤銷裁定）；recall sb. from abroad（把某人從國(guó)外召回）。
此外，鄭的“玩忽職守”可表達(dá)為“dereliction of duty”。
