中央農(nóng)村工作會議12月23日至24日在北京舉行。會議深入貫徹黨的十八大和十八屆三中全會精神，全面分析“三農(nóng)”工作面臨的形勢和任務，研究全面深化農(nóng)村改革、加快農(nóng)業(yè)現(xiàn)代化步伐的重要政策，部署2014年和今后一個時期的農(nóng)業(yè)農(nóng)村工作。

China has pledged to deepen rural reforms and step up agricultural modernization, according to a statement issued after a central rural work conference which ended on Tuesday.

周二結束的中央農(nóng)村工作會議指出，中國將深化農(nóng)村改革，加快農(nóng)業(yè)現(xiàn)代化。

為期兩天的中央農(nóng)村工作會議（Central Conference on Rural Work）是黨的十八屆三中全會之后，中央召開的又一次重要會議。會議研究全面深化農(nóng)村改革（rural reform）、加快農(nóng)業(yè)現(xiàn)代化（agricultural modernization）步伐的重要政策；并指出中央出臺的“三農(nóng)”政策（policy on the countryside, agriculture and farmers）行之有效、深得民心，有效調動了農(nóng)民積極性，有力推動了農(nóng)業(yè)農(nóng)村發(fā)展。

會議同時還從確保我國糧食安全（food security）、堅持和完善農(nóng)村基本經(jīng)營制度（the basic rural management system）、保障農(nóng)產(chǎn)品質量和食品安全（agricultural product quality and food safety）、加強農(nóng)村社會管理（rural social administration）等方面，全面系統(tǒng)部署2014年和今后一個時期的農(nóng)業(yè)農(nóng)村工作。

When defining a moderately prosperous society, the key is to observe the condition of farmers.

中國要強，農(nóng)業(yè)必須強；中國要美，農(nóng)村必須美；中國要富，農(nóng)民必須富。

If China wants to be strong, agriculture must be strong. If China wants to be beautiful, the countryside must be beautiful. If China wants to get rich, the farmers must get rich.

中國人的飯碗任何時候都要牢牢端在自己手上。我們的飯碗應該主要裝中國糧，一個國家只有立足糧食基本自給，才能掌握糧食安全主動權，進而才能掌控經(jīng)濟社會發(fā)展這個大局。

The bowls of the Chinese, in any situation, must rest soundly in our own hands. Our bowls should be filled mainly with Chinese grain. Only when a country is basically self-sufficient in food, can it take the initiative in food security and grasp the overall situation for economic and social growth.

土地承包經(jīng)營權主體同經(jīng)營權主體發(fā)生分離，這是我國農(nóng)業(yè)生產(chǎn)關系變化的新趨勢。

The subjects of the rights to contract for management will grow apart from the subjects of the rights to manage. This is the new trend for China's agricultural production relations.
