朱日和訓(xùn)練基地（Zhurihe military training base）位于廣袤的蘇尼特草原，占地面積1000多平方公里，是亞洲最大的軍事訓(xùn)練基地（the largest military training base in Asia），近年來(lái)多場(chǎng)重大軍事演訓(xùn)活動(dòng)和中外聯(lián)合軍演在這里舉行。

這是新中國(guó)成立后我軍首次以慶祝建軍節(jié)為主題的盛大閱兵（the first time that China commemorates the Army Day, which falls on Aug. 1, with a military parade since the founding of New China in 1949），受閱官兵列陣沙場(chǎng)，以戰(zhàn)斗姿態(tài)接受黨和人民的檢閱。

中共中央總書(shū)記、國(guó)家主席、中央軍委主席習(xí)近平乘坐野戰(zhàn)檢閱車(chē)依次檢閱了在演兵場(chǎng)整齊列隊(duì)的護(hù)旗方隊(duì)、地面作戰(zhàn)群和人員方陣。

檢閱過(guò)程中，習(xí)近平主席與戰(zhàn)士們互致問(wèn)候：

由陸軍（Army）、海軍（Navy）、空軍（Air Force）、火箭軍（Rocket Force）4個(gè)軍種官兵組成的護(hù)旗方隊(duì)，護(hù)衛(wèi)著中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨黨旗、中華人民共和國(guó)國(guó)旗、中國(guó)人民解放軍軍旗。

紀(jì)念標(biāo)識(shí)梯隊(duì)中，17架直升機(jī)組成“八一”標(biāo)識(shí)，24架直升機(jī)繪出“90”字樣，象征著人民軍隊(duì)走過(guò)了90年光輝歷程。
