A hedge city is a place where wealthy people in booming but unstable societies pile into local real-estate markets, driving up values. The typical hedge city is innocuous, offering privacy and seclusion as well as social and political stability.

繁榮發(fā)展但不穩(wěn)定的國家的富人們會大量涌入“對沖城市”的房地產(chǎn)市場，從而催高房價。典型的“對沖城市”是安全無害的，擁有穩(wěn)定的社會和政治環(huán)境，人們的隱私會受到保護，能夠在城市中安靜地生活。
